Queen of Angels Montessori Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) The Queen of Angels Montessori PTO was created to support the school in its mission, enhance a strong relationship between the parents and teachers, and provide enrichment through education, communication, social activities, and fundraising. The PTO holds meetings every other month to plan and evaluate the many PTO functions that are held throughout the school year. The PTO coordinates various Arts and Educational Events including the Scholastic Book Fair, Birthday Book Club, Destination Imagination, Everybody Counts, and the Parents’ Library. The Arts Committee has assisted in planning two Artist in Residence programs. The Events committee plans the Welcome Back Picnic, Family Fun Nights, Staff Appreciation, gifts for new families, receptions for various celebrations, and Field Day. The Community Relations committee recruits Classroom Coordinators, publishes the PTO Directory and the Yearbook, and works with the administration in providing character development activities for our children. The PTO has various sources of income including the Sally Foster wrapping paper sale, Spiritwear sales, Spring Flower Sale, and Boxtops, Recycle for Cash, and Campbells Soup Labels. The first annual Walk-a-thon was held in May 2005 and a majority of the proceeds went to develop the Arts programs at Queen of Angels. The PTO Executive Committee is made up of parents who are elected to serve a two-year term. The PTO welcomes all parents to its meetings.
