Pre-Primary Team (ages 3-6)

Carrie Bucksath – Montessori Pre-Primary Teacher
Carrie graduated from Xavier University in 2000 with a major in Montessori Education.  After completing her student internship at Queen of Angels in the fall semester of 1999, Carrie worked here as an assistant teacher and, since 2001 has been a lead Montessori teacher.  In addition to her Montessori training, Carrie has completed training in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and at both Level I (age 3-6) and II (age 6-9).   Carrie is the mother of three sons, who are all students at Queen of Angels.

Julia Damico – Montessori Pre-Primary Teacher
Julia earned a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Marietta College in 1986, and has spent the last twelve years working as an athletic trainer in the physical therapy setting.  Her interest in Montessori education started when her daughter Kelsea began attending the first class at Queen of Angels as a three-year old in 1998.  After three years as an assistant teacher at Queen of Angels, Julia completed Montessori training at the Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education, and took on the role of lead pre-primary teacher in 2006.  Julia and her husband Steve are the parents of three children, all of whom attend Queen of Angels. 

 

Kathy Farfsing – Montessori Pre-Primary Teacher
Kathy has a wide background in Montessori education.  After taking Montessori training at Xavier in the early 1980’s, she taught for one year before starting her family and staying at home to raise her four children.  When her youngest child entered preschool, Kathy returned to the classroom at the Xavier Montessori Lab School, where she served as assistant teacher, kindergarten teacher, and interim principal and child care director.  During this time, Kathy completed her B.A. at Xavier as well as her 6-9 and 9-12 Montessori training.  She is now a candidate for her M.Ed. in Montessori Education from Xavier.  In 2000, Kathy started the upper elementary program at Prince of Peace Montessori in Covington, KY, where she taught until 2003.  Kathy came to Queen of Angels as an upper elementary teacher in 2003 and, beginning in the fall of 2005 returned to her Montessori roots as a pre-primary lead teacher.  She is involved in her local Catholic church counseling engaged couples, and loves to camp and hike.  Her spare time is entirely devoted to her husband Steve and their children, ranging in age from 16 to 24.

Jeanna Olszewski - Montessori Pre-Primary Extended Day Teacher
Jeana earend a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Cincinnati in 1994, and a Masters in Montessori Education from Xavier University in 1997.  She served as a lead pre-primary teacher for four years at Jefferson Montessori School (part of the Dayton Public School system) from 1997-2000.  Jeana and her husband Steve are the parents of four children, all of whom attend QAMS.

Elizabeth Eicher – Assistant Teacher
Liz has been an assistant pre-primary teacher at Queen of Angels since 1999.  During that time, she has participated in numerous workshops and professional development opportunities, including a course for Montessori assistants at the Ohio Montessori Institute in Cleveland.  Prior to coming to Queen of Angels, Liz worked for four years as a co-teacher in a toddler class at the Eastern Hills Educational Building.  Liz and her husband have one daughter.

Linda Headings – Assistant Teacher
Linda received a B.S. in Education in 1981 and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education in 1987 from the University of Cincinnati.  Linda taught kindergarten for four years and first grade for nine years before becoming a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her first child.  Along with nurturing her family she enjoys volunteering at her church, school, and Ten Thousand Villages.  Linda and her husband are the parents of two boys, both of whom attend Queen of Angels.  Linda enjoys playing games, nature, travel and storytelling.

Pat Landers – Assistant Teacher
Pat earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Our Lady of Cincinnati College.  She taught for a few years before being married.  Pat and her husband Jim have four children.  After raising their family, Pat served as an assistant teacher in the lower elementary program at North Avondale Montessori for sixteen years.  She is a certified Orton Gillingham instructor.   Pat enjoys reading, walking and visiting her grandchildren.
