Middle School

Lisa Klus – Montessori Middle School Teacher
In 1993, Lisa earned a B.S. in Montessori Education/Early Childhood from Xavier University.   She also received the Raymond McCoy Education Award for Outstanding Montessori Educator. In 1996, Lisa had the rare opportunity of moving up with the oldest students in her 3-6 classroom and starting the first Montessori lower elementary classroom in Princeton City Schools, Cincinnati. She went back to Xavier to complete her 6-9 certification requirements to pursue this path.  In 1997, Lisa received her Masters degree in Educational Administration from the University of Cincinnati.  Lisa has taught for over ten years at the pre-primary and elementary levels and has also served as an instructor at Xavier University's Montessori Teacher Education program.  After a year of working with national consultant Pat Ludick and the Queen of Angels Middle School Planning Committee, Lisa took Montessori Adolescent Training at the Mayerson Academy/Clark Montessori program in the summer of 2005, and established a vibrant Queen of Angels Middle School Program in 2005-06.  She now serves as a co-teacher in the middle school with John Bennett.  Lisa and her husband Dan are the parents of two sons who attend Queen of Angels.

John Bennett – Montessori Middle School Teacher
John graduated from Miami University in 1997 with a double major in Finance and Accounting.  After six years in the field of finance, John began his pursuit of a teaching career by taking classes at Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, and is currently working toward his certification in Montessori teaching through the Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teacher Education Program.  Before coming to Queen of Angels, John taught math at McNicholas High School and St. Gertrude School.  John lives in Newport, Kentucky with his wife, Amanda, and his 3 year old son, Warren. John and Amanda are expecting their second boy in November 2007.
