Elementary Team (ages 6-12)

LinMarie Cameron – Montessori Lower Elementary Teacher
LinMarie earned a B.A. in Theology from Christendom College in 1995.  She completed her elementary (6-12) Montessori training from the Washington Montessori Institute in 1997, and earned an M.Ed. in Montessori from Loyola of Maryland in 1999.  LinMarie began and developed the elementary program at the Montessori School of Kokomo for children ages 6-10 from 1997-2001.  She  came to Queen of Angels as a lower elementary directress in 2001.  LinMarie has completed both Level I and II training in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.  She is also a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor.

Donna Leopardi – Montessori Lower Elementary Teacher
For many years, Donna served her family as a stay-at-home mom, raising her four children.  She also took on the role of teacher for her children, as she led them in their homeschooling efforts for a number of years.  Prior to her work at Queen of Angels, Donna worked as an assistant teacher at St. Ursula Villa, helping with art classes and with the first grade.  She started as a lower elementary assistant at Queen of Angels in 2002.  An Orton-Gillingham-trained tutor, she assumed major responsibilities with our spelling and reading programs.  Donna also completed a training seminar with the Institute for Excellence in Writing and assists children with our writing program.  Donna completed her Montessori elementary training at Xavier University, and is working as a co-teacher with Amy Scuglik. 

Amy Scuglik – Montessori Lower Elementary Teacher
Amy received her B.S. in Montessori Education from Xavier University in 1999.  She then helped create one of the first elementary Montessori programs in Northern Kentucky while teaching at Prince of Peace School in Covington from 1999-2003.  Amy returned to X.U. and earned her M.Ed. while completing her 9-12 Montessori training. Amy has been a lower elementary teacher at Queen of Angels since the fall of 2003.  She is also a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor.

Anita Calo – Montessori Upper Elementary Teacher
Anita earned her B.A. in English and Education at Thomas More College in 1988 and began her teaching career as a middle school Language Arts teacher.  While raising her three children, she worked part-time in the banking industry developing and conducting training for adults.  Anita returned to the classroom in 2003, and completed her 3-6 Montessori training in June of 2006.  She is an avid reader and collector of children’s literature, and enjoys her home life with her husband and their three children.

Jenny Griffin – Montessori Upper Elementary Teacher
Jenny has an extensive background in science and education. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1994, and has worked for over eight years as a teacher-naturalist for the Cincinnati Park Board.  Prior to coming to Queen of Angels in 2005, Jenny taught for three years at St. Bernadette School in Amelia, and also served as a private tutor for Huntington Learning Center.  Jenny is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Montessori Education at Xavier University.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Theresa Bruemmer – Lower Elementary Assistant Teacher
Theresa earned her B.A. from Edgecliff College (Our Lady of Cincinnati). After helping to raise her eight children, Theresa began as Director of the Pregnancy Center East in 1986. She served in this capacity for 14 years, helping it grow from a small ministry to a viable community service. Education has always been key in the Bruemmer household. Theresa’s husband Don worked for Cincinnati Public Schools for 35 years, her children attended Montessori school, and she has a daughter in the teaching profession. Theresa began working at Queen of Angels as an assistant teacher in 2003, and her warm ways have enhanced the loving atmosphere of our school. She is the proud grandmother of 15.

Lisa Buck – Lower Elementary Assistant Teacher
Lisa earned a B.A. in Biology and an A.A. in Psychology from Thomas More College in 1989.  Prior to coming to Queen of Angels, she worked part-time as a Tumblebees Teacher at Kids First Sports Center.  Lisa teaches religious education for St. Gertrude Parish, is a member of the Stewardship Committee there and enjoys volunteering in many other capacities.  Lisa believes that every child is a unique and precious gift from God, and feels privileged to be able to share in the lives of the children she teaches.  She enjoys reading, nature hikes, listening to music, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.  Lisa resides in Pleasant Ridge with her husband and son. 

Shannon Lotterer – Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher
Shannon earned a B.A. from Miami University in 1990 in International Studies/Western European Area Studies. She and husband have three daughters who are students at QAMS. Before staying home with her children, Shannon was a human resources manager. She likes to camp, cycle, travel and swim with her family.

Mary Reike – Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher
Mary received a B.A. from Xavier University and worked for American Airlines for 13 years before going back to school to receive a Masters of Arts in Teaching at University of Memphis in 1996. She taught 5th grade Science and Math in Chicago and 7th and 8th grade Science and Math at Cardinal Pacelli before leaving the teaching world to raise her daughters, Cynthia, age 10, and Ann, age 8. Mary is very involved Christian Education at her church and a board member of her girls' violin program. She is thrilled to be back in the classroom and working with the eager inquisitive students of QAMS.
