ROLE OF THE SCHOOL

Mission Statement
“Queen of Angels Montessori School is dedicated to providing an outstanding education to children ages three to fourteen in a Catholic atmosphere faithful to the Magesterium of the Church. Using the philosophy and techniques of the Montessori approach, including religious education through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, our goal is to enable each child to develop as a well-integrated human being: spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally. Queen of Angels Montessori School serves children of Greater Cincinnati regardless of race, creed, or national origin.”

CD is a key part of the spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional development of the child, so the school mission is supportive of CD, but the parents remain the primary contributors to its success or otherwise in their children. Teachers and other school staff will facilitate the efforts of the children and parents in the activities outlined in this plan.

School Motto And Character Development Motto
“To Grow in Wisdom and Stature Before God and Men” (Luke 2:52)

Queen of Angels Montessori School is dedicated to helping children “grow in wisdom and stature before God and men.” It interweaves three basic components in order to work towards this goal:

  • The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
  • The Montessori educational approach
  • An active program of parent education and participation.

The CDP is a part of the broader Catechesis, and aims to use the Montessori educational approach with the leadership role being played by the parents. The CDP motto is “To Learn and Lead in Virtue”.

The school’s mission and these mottos will help guide the work of the CDP through the choices of themes and activities that accord with the mission and motto’s, and that bring them to reality in the daily lives of the children.
